Asphalt Repair

Asphalt Repair for Failing Sections and Damaged Pavement

Localized failures, potholes, broken edges, and patches that did not hold — repaired down to the cause instead of covered over.

Repair the Cause, Not Just the Hole

A pothole is a symptom. Something underneath let water in or lost its structure, and a repair that ignores that fails again.

Localized asphalt failure usually traces back to water, a weak base, or an edge that was never properly supported. Filling the visible damage without addressing what caused it produces a patch that lifts, sinks, or breaks apart within a season or two — which is why so many driveways have patches on top of patches.

We assess the failed area to determine whether the problem is contained to the surface or extends into the base, then scope the repair accordingly. That may mean a saw-cut removal and rebuild of the section, edge reconstruction, or drainage correction as part of the work.

When Repair Makes Sense

Repair is the right choice when the majority of the pavement is still sound and the failures are isolated. It restores function and safety at a fraction of replacement cost, and it keeps small problems from spreading into the surrounding surface.

When Replacement Is the Honest Answer

When failures are widespread, when alligator cracking covers large areas, or when the base has broken down across the driveway, repair becomes a recurring expense with no end. In those cases we say so and quote replacement rather than selling patchwork that we know will not last.

Commercial Considerations

On commercial properties, pavement failures are also a liability and access issue. We can stage repairs to keep parts of a lot usable and schedule work around business hours where the site allows it.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my patch keep failing?
Almost always because the underlying cause was never addressed. If water or a weak base created the failure, material placed on top will move again. A durable repair removes the failed section and corrects what is beneath it.
Can you repair just one section of my driveway?
Yes, when the rest of the pavement is sound. We evaluate the surrounding surface first so you know whether a localized repair is a real solution or a temporary one.
Will a repair match the rest of the driveway?
New asphalt is darker than weathered pavement and will remain visible for a period as it oxidizes. Sealcoating afterward evens out appearance when the surface is a candidate for it.
At what point should I replace instead of repair?
When failures are widespread, alligator cracking covers large areas, or the base has broken down. We will tell you plainly when repair no longer makes financial sense.
Do you repair commercial parking lots?
Yes. We handle repairs on commercial and managed properties and can stage the work to keep parts of the lot accessible.
How much does asphalt repair cost?
Pricing depends on measured area, pavement condition, preparation, access, drainage, and required materials. RS Superior inspects the property and provides a written scope rather than quoting an unreliable universal per-square-foot price.
How do I know whether asphalt repair is the right service?
The deciding factors are surface condition, base stability, drainage, and the extent of cracking or settlement. We assess those conditions first and explain whether maintenance, localized repair, resurfacing, or replacement is appropriate.
